Lorch’s highlight week attracts visitors to the Remstal garden show with festivities – and the end of the adventure gardens is approaching in Schorndorf and Schwabisch Gmund. Then you can visit the palace gardens and Sebaldplatz, Zeiselberg and Konigsturm again without having to pay admission.
Lorch / Schorndorf – They are still standing around the adventure gardens of Schorndorf and Schwabisch Gmund: the fences, the entry gates and the employees of the Remstal garden show in their green outfits. And visitors who want to enter these special areas of the show have to pull out their Remstal Card or pay admission for the day. But that time will end in a week or so.
Then, from Saturday, September 21st, 7 p.m., the castle park in Schorndorf will be accessible again free of charge. In Schwabisch Gmund, the free time at the permanent facilities Sebaldplatz, Zeiselberg and Konigsturm does not begin until Monday, September 23. According to the organizers, the Remspark is expected to be freely accessible in the second week of October. The last weeks of the Remstal garden show are definitely ushered in – because the end of October 20.
On the coming weekend Schorndorf and Schwabisch Gmund will say goodbye to their adventure gardens with a celebration each. The “Celebration Evening Live” series will come to an end on Saturday, September 21, in Schorndorf with a concert and festival of lights, in Schwabisch Gmund with a concert and a pyro show on the lower market square.
Before the grand finale of the horticultural show, however, some municipalities set up their program for their highlight weeks. From September 16 to 22, it’s Lorch (Ostalbkreis). This weekend, September 14th and 15th, the TSV Waldhausen, the Schutzenverein, the Fischerei- and Hegeverein Waldhausen as well as the Golf Club Hetzenhof will kick off with their festival "Endless sport and play fun at the center of Rems".
On Saturday from 3 p.m. on there will be a tournament for club, company and amateur teams. From 6 p.m. there will be music in the tent and illumination at the center of the Rems. And on Sunday, the organizers invite you to a veal sausage morning pint from 11 a.m. and for a game afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m..
The Lorchers have chosen their highlight week during the garden show in such a way that the annual and regionally known historical Staufer market of the Staufer falconry in the Lorch monastery falls exactly at this time. Behind the thick stone walls, visitors can experience a journey back in time to the Middle Ages on Saturday, September 21st and Sunday, September 22nd – with jugglers, tasty mead and bird of prey shows. For the little ones, the Swabian Alb Association is organizing a children’s day on Saturday, September 21. It starts at 10 a.m. at the entrance to the Schelmenklinge. On Sunday, September 22nd, the final concert with Klaus-Dieter Mayer and The Swinging River Band will take place from 7 p.m. on Oriaplatz in Lorch.
Blue light day: A blue light day for aid organizations will take place on Saturday, September 14th in Essingen, Mogglingen, Schwabisch Gmund and Lorch. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. there is a vehicle exhibition and demonstration exercises in Lorch, for example, on Oriaplatz.
Horse walk: Visit the white trail by Land Art artist David Klopp with a white horse – this is possible on Sunday, September 15th at 10 a.m. Then the white horse "Moritz" will be ready on the market square in Winterbach. A registration is not required.
Herbal Sunday: On Sunday, September 15th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., a team of herbalists will give an insight into the world of herbs in the natural pharmacy. There will also be a guided tour and a workshop on this topic. The venue is the community center in Kernen.
